Before I ever sold a home for someone else, I had to sell my own.

I wasn't upgrading. I wasn't moving on to something bigger. I was selling because I had to.

Before real estate, I took a chance on myself and built an IT start-up. It didn't work out the way I'd hoped, and the financial pressure that followed eventually meant making the incredibly difficult decision to sell my home.

That experience changed the way I look at property.

I know what it feels like when a house isn't simply an asset on a spreadsheet. It's your security. Your memories. Your plans. Sometimes it's something you've worked incredibly hard for, and sometimes selling means closing a chapter you weren't quite ready to close.

Years later, I haven't forgotten that.

It's a big part of why I chose real estate and why I've never wanted to be just another real estate agent.
